Frequently Asked Questions
We currently offer baseball for ages 4–12. We are working on establishing a 13-year-old Intermediate (50/70) team as the league continues to grow.
League age is based on the official Little League International age chart. You can check your child’s league age using the Little League Age Calculator.
Boundaries are set by Little League International. You can look up your address using the Little League League Finder.
Players must either live or attend school within our boundaries.
Out-of-district players may be eligible with a waiver or if they previously played with us—please contact us for details.
Fall Season:September – late October (developmental season)
Spring Season:Late February – May (competition-focused)
Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, Minors, Majors, and (soon) Intermediate 50/70. More divisions will be added as the league grows.
Registration
Registration typically opens about 3 months before the season starts and closes 1–2 weeks before Opening Day.
Fees vary by age/division. Please check the current registration link for the most up-to-date pricing.
Yes. We believe every child should have the opportunity to play. If you need assistance, email president@cactushorizon.com.
All documents are consistent with Little League requirements, including proof of age (birth certificate) and residency/school eligibility.
Teams & Divisions
Fall Season:Teams are formed based on friend requests and skill levels to ensure balance.
Spring Season:Tee Ball & Coach Pitch: Similar to Fall (friend requests + balance).
Minors & Majors: Players attend a skills assessment. Coaches draft balanced teams, with friend requests considered when possible.
We do our best to accommodate requests, but they are not guaranteed, especially in divisions with a draft.
Teams typically have 11–13 players, depending on season size and coach availability.
Practices & Games
Tee Ball & Coach Pitch: 1 practice + 1 game per week.
Minors & above: 2 practices + 1–2 games per week.
Fall:Monday–Friday evenings.
Spring:Monday–Saturday.
Tee Ball: About 1 hour.
Other divisions: Up to 2 hours.
If lightning is in the area or fields are unsafe, games and practices will be delayed or canceled. The league will notify families as soon as possible.
All games and practices are held at Cactus Horizon Middle School.
Equipment & Uniforms
Jersey, hat, game balls, and fields.
Glove, cleats, USA Baseball-certified bat, helmet, pants, and any personal gear.
The coach selects pant color each season. Please wait to order until the coach communicates the team color.
Volunteers & Umpires
The league is 100% volunteer-run. Parents are encouraged to volunteer as coaches, assistants, or in other roles.
Yes. All volunteers must complete a background check and meet Little League safety requirements.
Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, Machine Pitch:Umpired by coaches.
Minors & Majors:The league provides volunteer umpires.
League Policies
If a player withdraws, we do our best to accommodate refunds. If uniforms are already ordered or the season has begun, only a prorated refund may be possible.
Our goal is to develop players as athletes and as future community leaders. We expect all participants to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The goal is to have fun—we do not play for money or scouts.
Season Events
Fall:No playoffs (developmental season).
Spring:Yes, each division has playoffs with rules communicated before the postseason.
Yes, every season includes a team and individual Picture Day. Details will be communicated before the event.
We encourage teams to use the snack bar in Spring—it’s fun for kids and supports the league. Some teams may still organize snacks—check with your coach.
